Our approach

Most vacuum & infrared machines sell promises the evidence can't support.
Body Space® sells the training environment and a claim set you can legally defend.

// Environment-First Training™ — the comfort that sustains zone-2, not the burn that doesn't exist

What is Vacutherm?

Vacutherm is BodySpace's flagship machine: a treadmill enclosed from the waist down in a negative-pressure (sub-atmospheric) chamber, combined with infrared heat applied to the lower body.

It is designed for comfortable, low-intensity (“zone 2”) walking or light jogging in a warm, reduced-pressure environment. The name pairs vacuum (negative pressure) and therm (infrared heat) the two mechanisms the device combines.

How negative pressure works: the lower body sits in a sealed chamber held slightly below normal atmospheric pressure (about 1,013 mBar at sea level), applied gradually for circulatory comfort. The supported mechanism is local circulation, not fat removal.

What is infrared?

Radiant heat that warms the body, not the air.

Infrared warms the body directly, which is why infrared cabins feel comfortable at lower air temperatures than traditional saunas. In Vacutherm it creates a warm, comfortable environment during low-intensity cardio — positioned strictly as heat and comfort, never as a treatment.

Our evidence standard

What the science supports — and what we deliberately don't claim.

We make mechanism claims, not outcome promises, and we tell you exactly where the evidence stops — so the claims you repeat to your clients are claims you can defend.

What the evidence supports

Muscle contraction increases local blood flow / circulation in nearby fat & skin during exercise.

What we do NOT claim — and why

No spot / targeted fat reduction.

The best RCT (86 women) found no preferential lower-body fat loss from adding negative pressure — only a subjective skin-appearance effect.

Eur J Appl Physiol, 2012

No cholesterol, triglyceride, or “detox” claims.

A 2025 meta-analysis of 20 RCTs found infrared / passive heating does not lower lipids (total cholesterol −0.08 mmol/L, p=0.48).

No medical claims.

Vacutherm is a wellness device. Clinical-population infrared findings apply to supervised care of patients — they do not transfer to healthy users or our equipment.

No longevity or mortality claims.

Famous sauna-survival statistics come from observational studies of traditional saunas and are criticised as confounded. We leave them out.

For operators & distributors

Why operators choose Vacutherm.

A comfortable, repeatable, co-brandable experience — backed by claims you can legally defend, not promises that put your facility at risk.

Repeatability drives retention

Built around comfortable low-intensity sessions, not punishing workouts — the kind of experience clients come back for. Repeat visits are the economics of a studio.

Defensible science lowers your risk

Spot-reduction and medical claims are restricted under ASA & EU MDR — and in your facility, you carry the liability. We give you an evidence-cited claim set you can stand behind.

Co-branding as a differentiator

The “Body Space [City]” model gives your facility a recognisable, distinctive amenity — not a generic machine in the corner.

Who is it for?

Built for facilities that program comfortable, low-intensity cardio.

Studios & spas

Adding a recovery / wellness / “biohacking” amenity that is comfortable and repeatable.

Recovery & longevity centers

Programming low-intensity zone-2 cardio for clients in a warm environment.

Operators & distributors

Wanting a distinctive, co-branded machine with an honest, defensible science story.

Biohacking

Structured low-intensity cardio in a controlled warm, low-pressure environment

Wellness

Structured low-intensity cardio in a controlled warm, low-pressure environment

Recovery

Comfortable, low-impact movement that's easy to repeat

Longevity

A category of regular, low-intensity movement. We make no lifespan or mortality claims

The questions every operator asks.

Biohacking means optimizing your body's performance using science-backed technologies and smarter routines. Body Space® devices are a form of biohacking in motion: a single session combines exercise with Vacuum (Negative Pressure), InfraRed heat, and Red Light Therapy - multiple mechanisms working on the body at the same time, for maximum effect in minimal time.

Longevity training focuses on staying healthy, mobile, and active for as long as possible - not just living longer, but aging well. Body Space® devices support longevity through low-impact movement combined with Vacuum, InfraRed, and Red Light technologies, making effective training accessible at any age and fitness level, without strain on joints. InfraRed heat supports faster body regeneration after every session - and the better the body recovers, the longer it stays strong, energized, and feeling well.

Wellness is a complete approach to well-being - physical condition, body shape, skin, energy, and how you feel. At Body Space®, advanced technologies, low-impact training, and regenerative roll massage work in synergy to improve not only the body, but also overall well-being.

Recovery is the body's process of regeneration after exercise and daily stress. Body Space® technologies support it on several levels: full-spectrum InfraRed heat - powered by Philips Infrared lamps designed for human use - warms and relaxes muscles deeply, Red Light Therapy is associated with tissue regeneration, Vacuum stimulates circulation and lymphatic flow, and the Body Roll device provides classic regenerative massage.

No. The best available randomised controlled trial (86 women) found that adding lower-body negative pressure to diet and exercise produced no preferential lower-body fat loss — only a subjective improvement in skin appearance and cellulite. We position the machine around increased local circulation during exercise and comfortable zone-2 cardio, not targeted fat loss.Löberbauer-Purer et al., Eur J Appl Physiol, 2012

Infrared is radiant heat that warms the body directly. The infrared spectrum runs roughly 0.78–1,000 µm; the far-infrared sub-band is 50–1,000 µm under ISO 20473. Infrared cabins feel comfortable at lower air temperatures (typically 43–66 °C) than traditional saunas (66–90 °C).

A small, gradually applied amount. Standard atmospheric pressure is about 1,013 mBar, and the chamber lowers the pressure around the lower body by a small, controlled margin for circulatory comfort. (Vacutherm's exact operating pressure: [SPEC] ___ mBar.)

No. Vacutherm is a wellness and training device. Under EU MDR 2017/745, any claim to treat or prevent disease reclassifies a product as a medical device, so BodySpace deliberately avoids all medical claims.

Because the comfortable, repeatable experience supports client retention, and because BodySpace gives you an evidence-cited claim set you can defend under ASA and EU MDR rules — instead of claims that put your facility at regulatory risk. You also get the distinctive “Body Space [City]” co-branding.

No. A 2025 meta-analysis of 20 randomised controlled trials found infrared / passive heating does not significantly lower cholesterol or triglycerides. We position infrared purely as comfortable radiant heat.

Body Space®️ devices are designed for body shaping through the synergy of movement and technology. During a low-impact workout, Vacuum (Negative Pressure) stimulates circulation and lymphatic drainage - mechanisms closely linked to the appearance of cellulite - while InfraRed heat warms the tissue and intensifies the session, and Red Light Therapy supports skin condition. This combination targets the areas where results matter most: abdomen, thighs, hips, and buttocks. What makes the process faster? A single session combines mechanisms that would normally require separate treatments - exercise, vacuum therapy, infrared heat, and red light - all working on the body at the same time. The result: a more efficient path to visible body shaping and smoother-looking, firmer skin.
